Your Austin travel guide is here! Tasked with finding the perfect venue for our client’s destination wedding, and headed to a city on the top of our travel list: Austin, Texas, for a bit of wedding recon and a lot of fun. We spent the weekend searching out venues, eating barbecue and breakfast tacos (this city is crazy about them!), shopping along South Congress and drinking up all of Austin’s goodness. This city stole our hearts, and we’re breaking down some of our favorite sights and bites we experienced along the way, including a roundup of some of the coolest venues that should definitely be on your destination wedding list:

VENUES
1. One Eleven East

Just a little north of Austin you will find this amazing loft full of a minimalist’s wildest dreams. You get a touch of urban feel but with all the restored original architecture to bring in character. You can find out all the specs on their website.

2. Allan House

A historic venue with perfect indoor and outdoor space, this venue screams southern romance in all the right ways. Allan House

3. Prospect House

I mean.. what more can be said about this architectural beauty other than it’s the perfect combination of serene nature + industrial edge. Wowza, Prospect House!

4. Tillery Kitchen and Bar

Tillery Kitchen and Bar is the perfect space if you’re looking to have an intimate gathering with amazing food. It overlooks ATX’s Colorado River for beautiful views of nature in this modern space.

5. Barr Mansion

Bright open spaces, windows, and the surrounding woods are just a few of the reasons we love Barr Mansion.

DINING

While we had our fair share of BBQ while in town (yes, The Salt Lick is worth the drive to Driftwood), we’re sharing a few spots you may not have heard about yet:

1. Launderette

This converted gas station and laundromat, has incredible kitschy charm, but also a chef-driven menu to back it up as a legit dining establishment. Hands down,Launderette had one of our best meals in town!

2. Elizabeth Street Cafe

Vietnemese and French fusion is amaze in all the right ways. Take our word for it and double up on the keifer lime chicken bun! Elizabeth Street Cafe.

3. Walton’s Fancy and Staple

Deli, flower shop, and all around cute eatery owned by actress Sandra Bullock.Walton’s Fancy and Staple feels like a piece of Austin that’s been around forever.

STAY HERE
1. Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt

In addition to a great restaurant and bar on the top deck, Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt has an amazing aesthetic that feels like the coolest place to be.

2. Hotel Saint Cecilia

In addition to it’s amazing pool, Hotel Saint Cecilia has some serious patio goals.

3. South Congress Hotel

Hip neighborhood, mid-century modern touches, and a touch of traditional Texas charm make South Congress Hotel so special.

4. Hotel San Jose

Hotel San Jose is a funky, minimalist hotel is right in the heart of one of our favorite Austin streets, South Congress. Be sure to mosey across the street to The Continental Club for some authentic live music while you’re in town.
