This disco chic 40th birthday party was a milestone to remember! We were honored to plan this party for none other than the queen of interior design, Sarah Sherman Samuel.

THE VIBE

Sarah loves neutrals so we focused the color scheme on cream, white, and oatmeal with a bit of glitz thrown in for the celebratory aspect. We wanted to create a living room interior feel brought to the outdoors and created a sleek, cool outdoor lounge area built around the dance floor for guests to mingle and hangout. The florals stayed organic and interesting with sweet bud vases and a fluffy organic overhead installation of greenery over the dancing area.

THE ATTIRE

Guests were encouraged to wear disco chic white and cream colors, and they certainly understood the assignment! All of the neutral looks helped the birthday girl’s red stiletto Jimmy Choo’s really stand out in the crowd.

THE MENU

Guests nibbled on a delicious spread of California fresh cuisine from Heirloom LA complete with cheeses, charcuterie, crudités, and event delicious comfort foods like lasagna cupcakes. Spicy margaritas from Fancy Free liquors were flowing throughout the event. In lieu of a birthday cake, we created a tower of Sarah’s favorite chocolate chip cookies from Gjelina.

THE TUNES

No disco would be complete without a killer soundtrack spun by Matthew of The Flashdance. He mixed retro jams and the latest dance songs to keep everyone on the dance floor all night long. Sarah Sherman Samuel’s disco chic birthday party was a celebration for the ages!
