We took a cramped, underutilized space and transformed it into a spacious, functional and stylish kitchen for entertaining for our clients who love to throw parties.
Before
Elsa, who loves to entertain, and her family needed their kitchen to function much more efficiently than how it started when they moved in. While a second living room, and in some cases a fish tank, can be valuable in a home, the kitchen is rarely the best place to put either of them. A full overhaul was needed to make this the kitchen of Elsa’s dreams.
The Vision
Elsa envisioned hosting Thanksgiving, football game viewing parties and weekends with extended family and needed a space that could contain lots of people, food and good cheer.
The Transformation
The living room area off the kitchen was taking up precious space that could be used for extra storage and the spacious island Elsa was envisioning. We also needed a place to house the homeowner’s sizeable party pantry. What, you ask, is a party pantry? It’s a collection of serving pieces, tabletop items and party decor on-hand whenever the need for entertaining arises. Need help curating your own party pantry? Get in touch!
In repurposing the living room space to become part of the kitchen, it opened up significant wall space for additional cabinetry and a built-in party pantry for stashing away their entertaining essentials and serving pieces. A much better use of space for this family.
The walkways are now much more grand, allowing for comfortable flow on a daily basis and for when they have guests. The island is grand and allows for amazing food spreads during game nights. A beverage station was a must. Panel ready appliances helped to streamline the look and keep the gorgeous wooden cabinetry the highlight. Old world and modern accents helped to bring the vision for this space to life. The kitchen is the heart of this family’s home and it now reflects their values, interests and style. It is truly a kitchen for entertaining, just as they had hoped.
